J. R. Bird Company
| J.R. Bird Company was established in 1992 by McLean Moore, son of The Saltbox owners Mac & Nancy Moore. Upon graduating from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, McLean began designing and producing a small line of bird houses. Over the past decade, the line has grown to well over thirty designs that now also includes bird feeders and lamps. All J.R Bird houses, feeders and lamps are handmade, one at a time, and are constructed of durable cypress with copper roofs and detailing. All are finished with exterior latex paints and various patina-enhancing processes.All houses have access doors for easy seasonal cleaning, and although fully functional for outdoor use, many owners prefer to use them indoors for strictly decorative purposes. Our bird friends have responded well – they continue to return year after year to these finely crafted homes of distinction. |
